Northampton County, Pennsylvania was created in 1752 from Bucks County. It is situated in the eastern most region of the state along the Delaware river, just across the border from Warren and Sussex Counties, New Jersey. It is the parent county in whole or part to Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne counties. This book is filled with data that might help that researcher with family connections in eastern Pennsylvania. The narratives of the Scotch-Irish Settlements in Northampton County, biographical sketches of prominent persons, lists of genealogy, of taxables, of Revolutionary soldiers and of burials together with other valuable records, have been collected from the unpublished manuscripts as well as the published writings of Dr. John C. Clyde and incorporated in this volume.
