Hopkins County, Kentucky History and Biographies

$14.00

Hopkins County, Kentucky was formed from a portion of Henderson County in 1806 to become the 49th county in the young state. It was named for General Samuel Hopkins. Later, in 1857, Webster County was created out of the Hopkins County territory. The material in this volume was gleaned from two sources. The first is History of Kentucky by Lewis Collins, published in 1882 and the second source is Kentucky: A History of the State by W. H. Perrin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin published in 1885. These two books set the standard for Kentucky history and pioneer biographies. Most of the biographical material was submitted by the individuals or their families and therefore, should be more accurate than other sources.
