During the time period covered in these deed records, the land mass of Tazewell County covered more than is contained in the county today. Actually, many of the land records are found in West Virginia counties of Wyoming, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, and Mingo Counties as well as Bland County now in Virginia. We have left off the plats and surveyor points as these are more or less useless today in locating the land itself. We have included the creeks and rivers indicated as this is more likely the way you would find the land today.
