Scott County, located in the northeastern portion of the state on the Kentucky border was created on December 17, 1849 and was named for U.S. Army General Winfield Scott, the hero of the Mexican War. These records give the names of the couple being married, as well as the names of the Clerk of the Court, Bondsmen and Official along with the date of the license and date of the marriage.
