The County Court of Hawkins County in upper east Tennessee handled the day to day running of the county itself. There one will find the road order, bastard situations, orphan transfers, land transaction, and a myriad other causes to come before the court. These minutes present their presentation and resolution.
Example from this volume:
26 February 1828 - Andrew W. Gouldy vs William P. Shelly - This day came the Plaintiff and with leave the Court dismissed his suit, it is therefore considered by the court that the defendant go hence without day and recover of the Plaintiff the costs in this behalf expended for which execution may issue.
