Logan County, located in western Arkansas, was created on March 22, 1871 when it was originally called Sarber County in honor of General J. N. Sarber. The name was changed on 14 December 1875 and renamed in honor of James Logan, an early pioneer settler in the area. This historical and biographical collection gives a brief history of the county and biographical sketches of persons and families as they were submitted by these families. The data covers the time period up to about the mid-1880s when this was originally written by Goodspeed.
