This large work, which was originally published as the Barber Genealogy in one volume, has been reprinted as two separate books: Descendants of Thomas Barber of Windsor, Connecticut, 1614-1909 and Descendants of John Barber of Worcester, Massachusetts, 1714-1909. The first book covers the descendants of Thomas Barber of Windsor, Connecticut, and also includes a short chapter on the descendants of Moses Barber, a Revolutionary War soldier from Jonesville, New York. The Thomas Barber genealogy is primarily male lines, with daughter lines usually only carried down one generation. The second book covers John Barber of Worcester, Massachusetts, who is apparently unrelated to Thomas Barber. The John Barber genealogy includes extensive female lines with the result that many of the people named do not bear the Barber surname. The families covered in both sections lived primarily in New England, New York, and the Midwest.
Since most researchers will want only one part of this composite work, and each part has a separate full-name index, the two books are offered individually.
