1860 Cocke County, Tennessee Census

$40.00

Cocke County, located in mid-east Tennessee, borders North Carolina on the east and is one of those counties that figures largely in the migration westward for many early settlers. This 1860 census records those living there prior to the Civil War and is very important as many of them migrated west following the war to avoid persecution. Since the court house burned in 1876 and destroyed many of the records of the county, this census is vital for identification of the early residents. The names of each individual are given with age, occupation, real and personal property values and the place of birth given for each person.
