Those at Rest: Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Loudoun County, Virginia, 1879-1999

$20.00

Lovettsville Union Cemetery provides a resting place for many pioneer settlers along the Catoctin Mountain. The early cemetery was not incorporated until 1879, but as many as 30 early burials exist before that time. The earliest headstones were removed from the adjacent New Jerusalem Cemetery and placed in the Lovettsville Union Cemetery. The last burial recorded was in June, 1999. Information in this book came from two main sources: first, the headstone inscriptions, and second, data in the interment book. A map is provided of the cemetery to aid in resolving the duplicate lot numbers listed in the internment book. Conflicting information on the stone is placed in brackets while the true stone data is first. In addition, causes of death were recorded in the interment book until 1942.
