The 6th Maryland Regiment Maryland Infantry was part of the 6th Corps, the most famous Corps in the Union Army. Until now, little has been written about this regiment's contribution, yet on the actual battlefields, there are markers designating their position and participation. To correct this oversight, the author spent three years gleaning information from official records, diaries, letters and newspaper articles. The research for this book also led to the creation of the 6th Regiment of Maryland Infantry Descendant's Association whose members contributed valuable information. A brief history of Maryland precedes the detailed narrative account, complete with the regiment's organization and training, campaigns and battles, and much more. Numerous photos, a fullname plus subject index and appendices add to the value of this book. Names, muster dates, and other information as available, are listed for Companies A-I, K and unassigned enlisted men.
